.........Tutor, Independent and Public Schools, 2013 - Present
I tutor all levels of high school math and physics. I work with students in person and via Skype. I place a strong emphasis on meeting students "where they are" and building a strong rapport. In addition, I use a variety of software such as Mathematica to demonstrate concepts in 2D and 3D graphs.

.........Agile Mind, Instructional Consultant, 2014 - 2015
Agile Mind offers programs for Middle School and High School that include comprehensive curriculum, formative assessment, job-embedded professional supports, student practice, and real-time data and reports. On a weekly basis, I visited teachers and administrators at their schools. This work included classroom observations, video clips, role playing, written and verbal reviews, and exercises to shift towards more effective teaching. In addition, I led three-day workshops which prepared the teachers for the new school year and the new curriculum they would be teaching

.........Solvy, Curriculum Consultant, 2014
Solvy is an online math assistant. The product was developed by Mathematicians from England and Russia with an eye towards the American school system. I reviewed and improved materials to align them with common teaching practices in the United States.

.........Many Labs, Content Consultant, 2012 - 2013
Manylabs is an open science platform. They make and support open tools for science and education. I collaborated with them to review and improve their product from a pedagogical perspective.

Taught Mathematica to gifted students at Wolfram Research's Summer Camp

Catlin Gabel School, Math Teacher, Soccer Coach, Advisor 2005 - 2011
Taught all high school grades with a focus on Geometry. I was especially successful teaching Geometry using Euclid's original text in a Socratic style. Students learned all 48 propositions of Book I of The Elements rigorously but also learned to think about mathematics philosophically - "Is math invented or discovered?" "Does a perfect circle exist." I am quite adept at making my classroom an engaging and comfortable environment for learners of all levels.

Bienestar / Catlin Gabel, Founder of Homework Club, 2007 - 2010
In collaboration with Bienestar, I founded Homework Club, a mentoring program for the children of migrant farmworkers. Twice a week, high-school students tutor elementary kids with in all academic areas. Homework Club is an ongoing success with the young students excelling in school and the older students gaining leadership skills and self-esteem.

Portland Jewish Academy, Physics & Math Teacher, 2004 - 2005
Founding faculty member of the high school. Developed and taught conceptual physics using experiment based curriculum. Designed and taught four year sequence for mathematics which utilized a spiraling and experiential approach.

Independent Math & Physics Tutor - Numerous Portland Area Schools, 2001 – 2004
Taught and tutored all levels of math and physics throughout the Portland Metropolitan area.

Castilleja School - Math & Honors Physics Teacher, 2000 - 2001
